Last friday in Art 1, We had a task party. I enjoyed the task party a lot because you had to make art while completing a task pulled out of a box at random. This activity was fun but also challenging. For one of my tasks, I had to "make it snow." To complete this, I cut white paper into small circles and threw it in the air. It made a mess but i completed my task! For another task, I had to build a tower out of markers. Daisy and I made the tower really high and it kept falling :( The picture shown shows Daisy and I completing our task.
Copying can be OK in art becuase it is differnet than stealing. After completing the Artist's Steal project, I realized that copying is a part of art. Even the best artists do it. You can interpret someones ideas into your work. My character remix project is Elsa from the movie Frozen. I changed her look by making her hair, makeup, and clothes dark. My final project is a collage of pictures from apex high made into an interactive journal. The Merit of my piece is the importance of the school and everything associated with high school.
"Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?" For my watercolor painting, I was inspired by other artists paintings of fruit. When looking at other art, I paid attention to how they laid out their fruit, the texture they used, and the color and shading they used. I brought some of these ideas together and created my own painting.
Yesterday in Art one, we completed the color me Katie project. This project was where you hang something up in a public place that is and funny and will get someone's attention. The purpose is to capture a picture of someone near your work, or make someone's day better with it. We decided to use a picture of Kim Kardashian and hang it in the hall window. As you can tell by the tweet, people were surprised to see Kim in the hallway. 😂😂
This picture was taken on the first day of Art class. In the picture, we are drawing a skeleton that Mr.Sands named Chick. The skeleton drawing was overwhelming the first time and I had trouble drawing all the bones. Through the course of the next week, we worked on drawing and shading. When we drew chick for the second time, it was a lot easier. I took my time and drew each bone individually. The second drawing came out a lot better.
Recently in Art 1, We have been observing and drawing different things. These things include bottles, flowers, telephones, and even turtles. This has taught me many things like how to shade, and look at the item more than the paper when you are drawing. In the picture shown, I took a picture of the item so i could draw it from a different view point.
