in the process of this project, I struggled with deciding which body parts to create. I didn't know if I wanted to stick to facial features or whole body. I think the shape of the lips and the texture of the tongue was successful. Next time, I would make the background of the eyebrows black.
This documentary is about artists that have devoted their lives to origami. It showed how the act of organi can teach you about our world. It also shows the math that goes into origami. As Dr. Dermaine says, it is fun.
I love the way the pit fire price turned out. I decided just to make a cylinder shaped vessel that looks almost like an old cup. To prep for the pit fire, I put all the chemicals on my piece along with copper wire, a peice of crumpled paper, and a leaf. I would love to do another pit fire. Next time I plan to make a different shaped vessel.
1. What is art? art is an expression of thoughts and feelings. It can come in many different forms. Art is a big part of history and the modern world. Art brings people together. 3. Is copying always plagiarism or is there a gray area? explain. In art, copying is not always plagiarism. As Steve Jobs said, "good artists copy." Every piece of work was inspired by something else. Taking others ideas and changing them into your own is not always plagiarism. 4. Artists make art to express feelings and ideas. These ideas may be trapped in their head and artists feel a need to show them. Art brings joy to the artist and also the people who end up viewing the art. It is like writing down thoughts, just in a different way. 6. What kinds of problems may artists encounter as they plan, make and share art? List as many as you can. When artists are planning a piece of art, they may not have enough inspiration to create the work. They might also experience something similar to a "writers block" but with art. The art work may also end up looking different than they expected. When they share art, viewers may not approve of the art work. These answers differ from my first answers because they are more in depth. My first answers I did not really understand the questions. This class has taught me about copying being ok sometimes in art. This class has also taught me types of artistic style.
For my destruction project, I started with a skeleton drawing that we created the first week of school. To destroy this project, I got multi colored paint and got a few people to help me splatter the paint all over the drawing. This project showed what i learned this semester so far about letting go of art and making something new out of old art.
My groups idea for this collaborative project is photography. We are taking pictures that create an illusion of something that would not be possible. For example, someone walking on top of another persons hand. My group consists of Mackenzie, Daisy, Isabella, and me. My role in the group is either to take the pictures or be the person walking or making the illusion possible. The final piece will be a collection of the pictures we took.
For my Final project, I created an elephant with only small square pieces of cut paper. This was a material problem I had to solve. The obstacle i had to overcome was making the squares fit together perfectly to create a shape, and using different colors of paper. I had to make sure the colors looked good together and created a color contrast. Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar? For this project, I was originally just going to use colored pencil. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and use a different material i hadn't used before. I'm glad i used cut paper because it made the project more challenging and gave it texture.
On Illustration friday, I chose the word silence. To create a visual for the word silence, I drew a night sky. The moon and stars are beautiful but also silent, So i thought that they would be a good representation of my word.
This week, I've been working on a project with a limitation. The limitation i selected was creating an elephant using only small squares of cut paper. This limitation causes me to have to overlap many small squares and arrange them in a specific way so they make a shape. In my final piece, i want the elephant to have color contract and have texture. I want the elephant shape to be obvious.
