My groups idea for this collaborative project is photography. We are taking pictures that create an illusion of something that would not be possible. For example, someone walking on top of another persons hand. My group consists of Mackenzie, Daisy, Isabella, and me. My role in the group is either to take the pictures or be the person walking or making the illusion possible. The final piece will be a collection of the pictures we took.
For my Final project, I created an elephant with only small square pieces of cut paper. This was a material problem I had to solve. The obstacle i had to overcome was making the squares fit together perfectly to create a shape, and using different colors of paper. I had to make sure the colors looked good together and created a color contrast. Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar? For this project, I was originally just going to use colored pencil. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and use a different material i hadn't used before. I'm glad i used cut paper because it made the project more challenging and gave it texture.
On Illustration friday, I chose the word silence. To create a visual for the word silence, I drew a night sky. The moon and stars are beautiful but also silent, So i thought that they would be a good representation of my word.
